Gear Pump (Hoist) - Remove

Usage:

793C 4AR

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Install the retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install" for the correct procedure.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

  1. Drain the oil from the hydraulic tank.

  1. Remove four bolts (1) , four washers, and split flange (2) . Disconnect hose assembly (3) .

    Note: Before disassembly, mark the hoses for installation purposes.

  1. Repeat Step 2 for hose assemblies (5) , (6) , and (8) .

  1. Use a suitable lifting device to support the weight of gear pump (7) . The gear pump weighs approximately 93 kg (205.02 lb).

  1. Remove four nuts (4) , four washers, and the gear pump.

  1. If necessary, remove O-ring seal (9) .
