- Remove the filter element (3). Discard the used filter element.
- Clean the filter housing base. All of the old filter seal must be removed from the filter housing base.
- Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the seal of the new filter element.
- Install the new filter by hand. When the gasket contacts the filter base, turn the filter by 270 degrees more. This will tighten the filter sufficiently.
Every new oil filter has rotation index marks that are spaced at 90 degree increments. Use the rotation index marks as a guide for tightening the oil filter.
- Open the engine compartment access covers.

NOTICE |
---|
Do not overfill to reach above or to the top of the "FULL" mark on the dipstick. |
- Inspect the machine for oil leaks.
- Stop the engine.
- Wait for ten minutes in order to allow the oil to drain back into the crankcase. Check the oil level. Maintain the oil level between the "FULL" mark (6) and the "ADD" mark (7) on the dipstick.
- Close all access covers. Close all access doors. Latch all covers and latch all doors.
