A drive shaft connects the yoke on the torque converter to yoke assembly (4). Yoke assembly (4) is connected to transmission input shaft (3) by splines.
When a speed clutch and a direction clutch are engaged, power is sent from the planetary transmission to output shaft (6), and then to transfer gear (5).
Transfer gear (5) turns transfer gear (2). Transfer gear (2) is connected to pinion gear (1) by splines. Pinion gear (1) turns bevel gear (8). Bevel gear (8) is fastened to bevel gear shaft (9) by bolts. Inner axle shafts (10) send the power to the steering clutches and brakes.
The bevel gear, pinion gear, and transfer gears receive lubrication oil from the lubrication system for the transmission. Oil flows through tubes (7) in order to provide lubrication for the bearings, pinion gear, bevel gear, and the transfer gears.
