D250E Series II and D300E Series II Articulated Trucks 3306B Engine Supplement Caterpillar

Installation Procedure

1. Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

2. Apply 6V-1541 Quick Cure Primer to the dimension of 7.6 ± 1.5 mm (0.30 ± 0.06 inch) from the tapered end of hollow stud (9) . Install hollow stud (9) to fuel filter base (3) and tighten the hollow stud to a torque of 60 ± 14 N·m (44 ± 10 lb ft) .

3. Install the O-ring seals to plugs (6) and (8) . Install plug (6) and (8) to fuel filter base (3) .

4. Install the O-ring seal to elbow (7) . Install elbow (7) to fuel filter base (3) .

5. Install gasket (5) to fuel filter base (3) .

6. Position fuel filter base (3) to the engine. Install two bolts (4) in order to secure the fuel filter base to the engine.

7. Apply a light coating of clean diesel fuel to the fittings on fuel line (2) . Position fuel line (2) to the engine. Connect the lower end of the fuel line to the engine.

8. Connect fuel line (2) to fuel filter base (3) .

9. Install a new filter (1) to the fuel filter base.

10. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, SEBU7028, "Operation and Maintenance Manual" for the proper installation procedure.

11. Close the engine hood.
