Truck Body Retaining Cable - Remove and Install

Usage:

793C 4AR

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.

  1. Raise the truck body.

  2. Rotate plate (2).

  3. Use a suitable lifting device in order to support the weight of retaining cable (1). The retaining cable weighs approximately 39.5 kg (87.08 lb).

  4. Remove two bolts (5), the two washers, two nuts (6), coupler (7), and the retaining cable.

  5. If necessary, remove five bolts (6), five washers, strip (5), and mud flap (10).

Installation Procedure

  1. If the following components were removed, install mud flap (10), strip (5), five washers, and five bolts (6).

  2. Use a suitable lifting device in order to support the weight of retaining cable (1). The retaining cable weighs approximately 39.5 kg (87.08 lb).

  3. Install the retaining cable, two nuts (6), the two washers, two bolts (5), and coupler (7).

  4. Rotate plate (2).

  5. Lower the truck body.
