Maximum permissible wear on the camshaft journal ... 0.05 mm (0.002 inch)
Thickness of camshaft thrust washer ... 2.30 to 2.40 mm (0.091 to 0.095 inch)
Lifters
- Diameter of the lifters ... 26.959 to 26.980 mm (1.0613 to 1.0622 inch)
- Diameter of the bore in the cylinder block for the lifters ... 27.000 to 27.021 mm (1.0631 to 1.0641 inch)
- Clearance between the lifters and the cylinder block ... 0.020 to 0.062 mm (0.0008 to 0.0024 inch)
Diameter of number one camshaft journal ... 47.982 to 47.992 mm (1.8891 to 1.8894 inch)
Diameter of number two, three, four, and five camshaft journals ... 47.945 to 47.975 mm (1.8876 to 1.8888 inch)
Clearance between the camshaft journal and the camshaft bearing for the number one journal ... 0.043 to 0.108 mm (0.0017 to 0.0043 inch)
Clearance between the camshaft journal and the bore in the cylinder block for the number two, three, four, and five camshaft journals ... 0.050 to 0.115 mm (0.0020 to 0.0045 inch)
End play ... 0.10 to 0.25 mm (0.004 to 0.010 inch)
Camshaft Lobe Lift
Illustration 1 | g00295323 |
Camshaft lobe lift
- Inlet lobe ... 7.06 to 7.16 mm (0.278 to 0.282 inch)
- Exhaust lobe ... 7.35 to 7.45 mm (0.289 to 0.293 inch)
To determine the lobe lift, use the procedure that follows:
- Measure the camshaft lobe height (B) .
- Measure the base circle (C) .
- Subtract the base circle that is found in Step 2 from the camshaft lobe height that is found in Step 1. The difference is the actual camshaft lobe lift (A) .
