(1) Mounting bolt and bypass valve

Tighten the mounting bolt to the following torque. ... 80 N·m (59 lb ft)
(2) O-rings
Use new O-rings when the oil filter base is installed. When the O-rings are installed, put a thin film of clean engine oil on the O-rings.

Note: Some engine installations on Caterpillar machines may have a different oil filter base assembly. The oil filter base is connected to the same location by a connection fitting. However, the location of the oil filter base assembly may be on a special bracket which is mounted on the engine or remote to the engine. The bypass valve is located in the oil filter base assembly.
