The existing 459-2597 Steering Pressure Switch Assembly needs to be replaced on certain 725C2, 740, 740 EJ, and 745 Articulated Trucks. The existing 459-2597 Steering Pressure Switch Assembly could fail, which could activate the secondary steer pump electric motor. |

Rework Procedure for 725C2 Machines: Tilt the cab to gain access and fit the cabin brace to carry out the switch replacement. Note that some components have been removed from the images for clarity. 1. Park the machine on a flat solid ground, move the transmission lever to "parking brake", release the hydraulic pressure, turn off the engine, remove the key, disconnect the main switch etc. 2. Remove the existing two cable straps. Refer to Image1.3.1. |

3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the harness. Refer to Image1.4.1. |

4. Remove the existing 459-2597 Pressure Switch Assembly. Note that a small amount of fluid will be lost during this operation; ensure that spillages are captured and any residual fluid cleaned from the machine. Refer to Image1.5.1. |

5. Ensure that the new 313-5104 Pressure Switch Assembly is fitted with a new 3K-0360 O-Ring Seal. Refer to Image1.6.1. 6. Install the 313-5104 Pressure Switch Assembly to port SW1 on the hydraulic block. 7. Tighten the 313-5104 Pressure Switch Assembly to a specified torque of 75 N.m +/- 5 N.m. 8. Connect the electrical connector to the harness. 9. Secure the electrical connector and harness to the bracket using a new 7K-1181 Cable Strap. Refer to Image1.6.2. |

10. Secure the cable to the switch body using a new 3S-2093 Cable Strap. Refer to Image1.7.1. |

4. Remove the existing 459-2597 Pressure Switch Assembly. Note that a small amount of fluid will be lost during this operation; ensure that spillages are captured and any residual fluid cleaned from the machine. Ensure that the 148-8307 Adapter remains in place. Refer to Image1.10.1. |

5. Ensure that the new 313-5104 Pressure Switch Assembly is fitted with a new 3K-0360 O-Ring Seal. Refer to Image1.11.1. 6.
