PROBLEM
The existing engine vibration damper can develop an oil leak on certain 797, 797B, and 797F Off-Highway Trucks. If the existing vibration damper develops a substantial leak it will require replacement. |

PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling. |
1.) Remove current spring damper from the front of the engine and clean the affected area where the leak occurred. 2.) Place 2 x 326-9881 Plugs into the crankshaft in order plug to oil feed and return holes. |

3.) Use 2 x M24 Dowel Rods to mount the 461-2437 Adapter. Align the dowel and the receiving hole on the crankshaft. |

4.) Mount the 476-2761 Damper by aligning the adapter dowel and the receiving hole on the damper. Note the C-Channel on the damper faces away from the engine. |

5.) Lubricate the threads and underhead of the 328-3377 mounting bolts with a molysulfide base lubricant. The 5P6604 washer is used with the 328-3377 bolts. 6.) Install at least 6 of the 328-3377 bolts into open mounting holes and lightly torque to 100 Nm. 7.) Remove the dowel rods that were used for assembly. 8.) Install remaining 328-3377 bolts and torque to 100 Nm. 9.) Torque all bolts to 800 +/- 100 Nm using the sequence shown below. |

10.) Subassemble Damper guard hardware to the damper guard. Tighten all hardware to 15 +/- 3 Nm. |

11.) Install Damper Guard assembly onto the engine. The upper brackets bolt to the front housing. Bottom brackets bolt to the trunnion. Tighten upper brackets to 100 +/- 20 Nm for M12 bolts. Tighten lower brackets to 55 +/- 10 Nm for M10 bolts. |
