Different Radiator Seals Available For Different Ambient Temperature Ranges And Fuel/Oil Resistance{1353,7555}

Usage:

776D (5ER),
784B (5RK) Tractors;
777D (3PR),
777D (2YW),
785B (6HK),
789B (7EK),
793C (4AR) Off-Highway Trucks

Description of Change: In the past, the rubber material of radiator seals has been negatively influenced by sensitivity to extreme ambient temperatures or fuel/oils. Therefore, two different radiator seals will be provided to the dealer for trucks based on their specific application and ambient temperatures.

1) A 160-6387 Seal and 160-6386 Seal (Black in color) have been provided to replace the 9Y-1654 Seal and 9Y-1655 Seal. These new seals feature a broad operating temperature range of -67° F to 300° F (-55° C to +149° C).

NOTE: The 160-6387 and 160-6386 Seals ARE SENSITIVE to fuel/oil fluids. If these seals should come into contact with certain fluids (i.e. leaking or cracked cylinder head, oil coolers, etc.) radiator seal leakage can occur. If radiator coolant fluid is contaminated or fuel/oil fluid spillage has occurred in the radiator area it is recommended to replace the damaged radiator seals.

2) A 160-6657 Seal and 160-6656 Seal (Rust-Red in color) have been provided to replace the 9Y-1654 Seal and 9Y-1655 Seal. These seals feature an operating temperature range of -40° F to 212° F (-40° C to +100° C).

NOTE: The 160-6657 and 160-6656 Seals are less sensitive to fuel/oil fluids. Replacement of these seals is NOT required should they come in contact with any fuel/oil fluids.

To obtain these seals (Rust-Red in color) with any factory built machine, orders must be placed through "Custom Shop," per the following part numbers. For 776D (5ER) Tractors; 777D (3PR) and (2YW) Off-Highway Trucks order 3Z-6492. For 784B (5RK) Tractors; 785B (6HK) Off-Highway Trucks order 3Z-6493. For 789B (7EK) Off-Highway Trucks order 3Z-6494. For 793C (4AR) Off-Highway Trucks order 3Z-6495.

The following chart illustrates the required number of seals for one complete radiator, applicable by model.

Adaptable To: Effective with 776D (5ER94) AND 784B (5RK26) Tractors; 777D (3PR788), 777D (2YW96), 785B (6HK892), 789B (7EK676) and 793C (4AR346) Off-Highway Trucks and is adaptable to all earlier models.
