Description of Change: The cab air filter latch has been changed. The new latch improves the service life of the latch.
Adaptable To: The changes to the cab air filter latch are effective with the Challenger 65E (6GS350), Challenger 75E (6HS325), Challenger 85E (6JS355) and Challenger 95E (6KS457) Agricultural Tractors. The improved latch is adaptable to earlier E Series Challenger Agricultural Tractors by using the following parts list and installation instructions.
1. Drill out the rivets that hold the former 154-5696 Latch Assembly using a #20 drill [4.1 mm (.1610 in) diameter].
2. Attach a new 162-6601 Latch Assembly with two 162-6603 Rivets.
3. Drill out the rivets in the former 8Y-4612 Striker using a #28 drill [3.5 mm (.1406 in) diameter].
