Improved Rotor Hood Side Discs And Disc Pivot Shafts Are Available {6635}

Usage:


SM-350 (1RM) Stabilizer Mixer RM-350 (5FK) Reclaimer Mixer

Reference: Service Manual Module, KEBR2573, "Disassembly and Assembly," "RM-350 Reclaimer Mixer and SM-350 Stabilizer Mixer Machine Systems".

Description of Change: An improved rotor hood side disc and disc pivot shaft are available. The new side disc and pivot shaft provide increased service life.

Adaptable To: The new discs and pivot shafts are adaptable to SM-350 (1RM1-Up) Stabilizer Mixers and RM-350 (5FK1-Up) Reclaimer Mixers by following the procedure outlined below:


Illustration 1.
Fabricate plate (20) from 1018 Structural Steel.

(A) 133.3 mm (5.25 in),
(B) 90 mm (3.5 in),
(C) 12 mm (.5 in).

Procedure For Installing New Discs And Pivot Shafts

1. Remove the chain case assembly on both sides of the rotor, and the rotor. Refer to the reference service manual module for the procedure.

(D) 3.0 mm (.12 in) butt weld, ground flush.
(E) 3.0 mm (.12 in) butt weld, ground flush.
(F) 366 ± 2 mm (14.4 ± .1 in).
(G) 65.2 mm (2.57 in).
(H) 36.0 mm (1.42 in).
(J) 3 mm (.12 in) chamfer both sides of plate in entire zone.
(K) Remove material to a radius of 512 mm (20.2 in).
(L) Diameter 100.35 mm ± .15 mm (3.947 ± .006 in), perpendicular to the rotor hood within 0.1 mm (.004 in).

2. Modify the side plate on both sides of the rotor hood as shown in illustrations 2 and 3.

(M) Fillet weld, 6 mm (.24 in), 50 mm (2.0 in) length with 150 mm (6.0 in) gap, from locations (R) to (S), and locations (T) to (Z).
(N) Fillet weld, 6 mm (.24 in), 50 mm (2.0 in) length with 150 mm (6.0 in) gap, from locations (R) to (S), and locations (T) to (Z).
(Q) Fillet weld, 6 mm (.24 in).
(U) Butt weld, 3 mm (.12 in).
(V) 192.5 ± 1.5 mm (7.56 ± .06 in).
(W) fillet weld, 6 mm (.24 in).
(X) 90.5 ± 0.2 mm (3.56 ± .008 in).
(Y) 67 ± 4 mm (2.6 ± .16 in).
(AA) 6 ± 2 mm (.24 ± .08 in) from locations (R) to (S), and locations (T) to (Z).

3. Install the new side discs and pivot shafts to both sides of the rotor hood with the components in the chart shown in illustration 4.

NOTE: Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock to 18 bolts (7).

NOTE: Apply 6V-4876 Lubricant to the mating surfaces of screw (8), washers (4) and hub (1).

NOTE: Tighten screw (8) and hub (1) before installing bolts (9). After screw (8) and hub (1) are tight, loosen the screw and hub until the holes for bolts (9) are aligned, then tighten bolts (9).

4. Install the chain cases and rotor.
