Procedure To Assemble Hydraulic Pilot Line Fittings {5057}

Usage:

TH62 (4TM, 3LN),
TH63 (5WM, 3NN),
TH82 (3JN, 3KN),
TH83 (3RN) Telehandlers

The plastic pilot lines installed between the directional control valve and the manifold which houses the pilot selector valves and the differential lock selector valve have nut and ferrule fittings. These fittings are installed to brass adapters in the manifold. The adapters may be damaged if the nut and ferrule fittings are incorrectly installed. It is essential that the ferrule is formed onto the pipe prior to installing the adapter to avoid damaging the adapters. The correct method of installing the fittings is detailed in the following procedure.

Procedure

The part numbers for the pilot line fittings are shown in Chart 1.

Illustration 1.

1. With adapter (4) removed from the valve or manifold, install pipe nut (2) and ferrule (3) on line (1) and insert the line fully into adapter (4).

2. Using a wrench to hold adapter (4), tighten pipe nut (2) to 25.0 N·m (18.50 lb ft) to form the ferrule.

3. Unscrew pipe nut (2) and remove the line from adapter (4).

4. Install adapter (4) in the valve or manifold and tighten to 10.0 N·m (7.40 lb ft).

5. Install the line on the adapter and tighten the pipe nut to 5.0 N·m (3.70 lb ft).
