1996/10/28 Caterpillar

Boom And Attachment Control Must Be In The "HOLD" Position When Starting The Engine {5725,7400}

Usage:

RT50, RTC60 (5PF, 4XG),
RT60 (5DG),
RT50 SA (8DJ),
RT80, RT100 (1GJ) Telescopic Material Handlers

All boom and attachment motions are automatically inhibited if the boom and attachment control is not in the "HOLD" position. This is a safety feature which is not described in Operation & Maintenance Manuals.

The control is spring centered to the "HOLD" position. The control could be offset due to an operator accidentally leaning against it while starting the engine. If this occurs then no boom and attachment motion can be initiated until the engine is switched off and started again with the control in the "HOLD" position.
