Description of Change: A new plastic outlet sleeve is being used on the above machines powered by 3208 (79V24972-Up) Engines. The new plastic outlet sleeve is used between the cylinder head and the front cover. The new outlet sleeve is longer than the former outlet sleeve to ensure adequate engagement of the O-ring seals in the front housing and cylinder head.

The new outlet sleeve has increased wall thickness that prevents cracking during installation. When removing the cylinder head, the plastic outlet sleeve can be simply broken with a screwdriver or chisel through the groove in the sleeve.

The black O-ring used to seal both ends of the outlet sleeve has been replaced with an orange teflon© coated Highly Saturated Nitrile (HSN) rubber O-ring seal. The higher temperature capability of the newer O-ring seal material eliminates the hardening (heat set) problem that sometimes occurred with the rubber O-ring seal.

7C-0885 Water Lines Group. (1) 109-7279 Outlet Sleeve. (2) 118-8586 O-ring Seal.

Adaptable To: The new 109-7279 Outlet Sleeve replaces the former 4W-3122 Outlet Sleeve. The 118-8586 O-ring Seal replaces the former 6F-0711 O-ring Seal.

NOTE: Check the outlet sleeve if an engine experiences severe overheating. The new 109-7279 Outlet Sleeve is made from a plastic material that is stable to 150°C (302.0°F). The outlet sleeve can be distorted or melt if this temperature is exceeded. If a distorted or melted outlet sleeve is found, routinely examine the engine for overheating and replace the sleeve as well as the coolant hoses.

NOTE: The new 109-7279 outlet sleeve should only be used ONCE. Do NOT reassemble a used outlet sleeve into an engine.
