Usage:
Remove Sequence And Pressure Control Valve
1. Lift the body of the truck and put FT1437 Body Support in position. See INSTALL AND REMOVE BODY SUPPORT on Page 7.
2. Disconnect hose (2) and four tubes (3), (4), (5) and (6) from sequence and pressure control valve (1).
3. Remove two bolts (7) and lockwashers and remove the sequence and pressure control valve from the transmission cover. Remove the two O-ring seals from the valve.
Install Sequence And Pressure Control Valve For Lock-Up Clutch
1. Inspect the condition of two O-ring seals (2) and make a replacement if necessary.
2. Put sequence and pressure control valve (1) in position on the transmission cover. Install the two bolts and lockwashers that fasten.
3. Connect hose (3) and four tubes (4), (5), (6) and (7) to the valve.
Disassemble Sequence And Pressure Control Valve For Lock-Up Clutch
start by:
a) remove sequence and pressure control valve for lock-up clutch

Cover (3) is under spring tension. The parts can come out of the valve body and cause personal injury when the cover is removed. |

1. Remove bolts (2) and lockwashers and cover (3) from valve body (1).
2. Remove piston (6) and spring (4) from the valve body. Remove slug (5) from piston (6).
3. Remove two bolts and lock washers and cover (8) from the valve body. Remove O-ring seal (7) from the cover.
4. Remove plug (11), valve spool assembly (9) and spring (12) from the valve body. Remove slug (10) and shims (13) from the valve spool assembly. Remove the O-ring seal from plug (11).
5. Use tool (A) to remove retainer ring (16) from valve spool (9). Remove retainer (15), spring (17) and plunger (14) from the valve spool.
6. Remove two bolts and lockwashers and remove cover (20) from the valve body. Remove guide (19), spring (22) and valve spool (18) from the valve body. Remove two O-ring seals (21) from the valve body.
Assemble Sequence And Pressure Control Valve For Lock-Up Clutch
NOTE: Clean all of the valve parts thoroughly with a cloth that is free of loose material (lint). Put a thin layer of transmission oil on all of these parts before assembly.
1. Inspect the condition of all O-ring seals and make a replacement if necessary.
2. Install two O-ring seals (1) on valve body (4). Install valve spool (5), spring (2) and guide (3) in the valve body. Install cover (6) on the valve body with two bolts and lockwashers.
3. Install plunger (8), spring (11) and retainer (9) in valve spool (7). Use tool (A) to install retainer ring (10) in the spool.
4. Install slug (14) and shims (18) in valve spool assembly (9). Install spring (17) and valve spool assembly (9) in the valve body. Install O-ring seal (15) on plug (16) and install the plunger in the valve body.
5. Install O-ring seal (12) on cover (13) and install the cover on the valve body with two bolts and lockwashers.
6. Install O-ring seal (19) on the valve body. Install the slug in piston (22). Install spring (20) on piston (22) and install the piston in the valve body. Install cover (21) on the valve body with two bolts and lockwashers.
