If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Rework Procedure
1. Remove 1197907 Guard Assembly. Reference: Disassembly and Assembly, 3406C Engine Supplement, SENR1326, "Engine And Power Train Guards".
2. Remove 1197912 Guard Assembly. See Parts Book, SEBP2406, "1167182 Guard Group - Compactor".
3. Remove 1197906 Plate to gain access to grease lines.
4. Remove 1179839, 1179838 and 1213291 Tube Assemblies. Reference SEBP2406 Parts Book, "1167330 Lines Group - Grease".
5. Disconnect 1075006 Joint Group from rear axle.
6. Remove rear axle. Reference the Disassembly and Assembly, 824G Wheel Tractor and 825G Soil Compactor and 826G Landfill Compactor Power Train, SENR1330, "Remove and Install Rear Housing Group (Oscillating)".
7. Remove 1197904 Guard Assembly.
8. Remove 1197905 Guard Assembly.
9. Inspect oil pan. Replace if necessary.
10. Rework 1197905 Guard Assembly.
a. Carefully remove a section of the Guard Assembly as shown and save for future use. See Illustration 1.
b. Grind a bevel onto the edge of the removed section as shown. Grind bevel on the edge of the 4-mm thick formed piece as shown in Illustration 2.
c. Weld the piece from step 10.a. to the Guard Assembly in the position shown, taking care to keep the surfaces flat.
11. Reverse steps to install guarding and axle.
