New Worldwide Identification Code Markings Used On Track Link Assemblies For Track-Type Tractors And Loaders {0336,4169,4171}

Usage:

Caterpillar has adopted a new worldwide identification marking system for the track link assemblies used on track-type tractors and track-type loaders. This change will help improve follow up reporting and warranty tracking of link assembly performance.

The identification number is now stamped on the shoe surface of the second right hand link from the pin end master link (as viewed on a track press). The number is actually located between the shoe bolt holes as shown in the illustration.

Identification numbers are being used by Caterpillar field engineers to follow and report product performance. Users are urged to add this code number to reporting documentation and, for future reference, record this number on work orders.

Remember, only links used in factory-assembled link assemblies will carry these markings. Individual links used by dealers for repair replacement would need to have these (or dealers' own) code numbers added at track service time.
