For some time, a green dye (color) has been added to the oil used in the transmissions of the above models that have the serial number prefixes shown. Because of the change in oil color, some dealers have desired information about the possible use of a different oil.

This article is for the purpose of explanation that the oil is not changed, and the addition of the green dye has no effect on the quality or performance of the oil. The green dye is added at the factory to permit easier identification of any leaks and to find the source of leakage more rapidly. The use of green dye in the oil is in effect on machines with the serial numbers shown in the chart.
