Do Not Use Room Temperature Vulcanizer Compounds Or Silicone Rubber Cements On O-Ring Seals In Engines; Do Not Use Too Much As Gasket Material {1000,7555}

Usage:

All Applications

Do not use RTV (room temperature vulcanizers) compounds or silicone rubber cements with O-rings to give a better seal in engines. The extra compound or cement can close oil and cooling passages, heat exchangers, piston cooling jets, etc. There have been reports of engine failures caused by these materials. If the seal is the right size and the groove is clean and not worn, these materials will not improve the sealed joint.

When you use RTV's or cements as a gasket cement, be sure to remove any extra material from the surfaces. Follow recommendations for use of these materials.
