Relief Valve (Torque Converter Outlet) - Disassemble

Usage:

Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

a. Remove the torque converter outlet relief valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Relief Valve (Torque Converter Outlet) - Remove" for the machine that is being serviced.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.

Spring force will be released when covers are removed.

Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.

NOTE: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

1. Remove O-ring seals (2) from the outside of valve body (1).

2. Remove bolts and washers (3). Remove cover (4) from the valve body.

3. Remove O-ring seal (5) from valve body (1). Remove two plugs (6) and inspect the O-ring seals for plugs (6).

4. Remove two bolts and washers (7). Remove cover (8) from valve body (1).

5. Remove O-ring seal (9) from valve body (1).

6. Remove spring (10), spacer (11), and valve spool (12) from the valve body.

7. Remove spiral retaining ring (16), retainer (15), spring (14), and poppet (13) from valve spool (12).
