Steering Frame Lock Pin - Remove and Install

Usage:

Installation Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Accidental machine starting can cause injury or death to personnel working on the machine.

To avoid accidental machine starting, turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position and remove the key.

Place a do not operate tag at the battery disconnect switch location to inform personnel that the machine is being worked on.

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death can result from machine articulation or movement.

Machine frames can move and a person can be crushed.

Install the steering frame lock pin in the bores of the front and rear frames.

Before operating the machine, be sure the steering frame lock pin is removed and put in the storage position.

Failure to put the steering frame lock pin in the stored position before operating can result in loss of steering.

--------WARNING!------

1. In order to install the steering frame lock pin, park the machine on a flat level surface in a straight ahead position.

2. Engage the parking brake.

3. Check that the steering frame lock pin bores in the front and rear frames are in alignment.

4. Remove steering frame lock pin (1) from the stored position.

5. Install steering frame lock pin (1) in the bores of the front and rear frames, as shown. Ensure that the steering frame lock pin passes through all three bores.

Removal Procedure

1. Remove steering frame lock pin (1) from the frame lock pin bores.

2. Install steering frame lock pin (1) in the stored position bore of the rear frame, as shown.
