Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor

Usage:

Remove Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor

1. Turn crankshaft to top center on compression stroke for No. 1 piston. See LOCATING TOP CENTER COMPRESSION POSITION FOR NO. 1 PISTON, in TESTING AND ADJUSTING SECTION.

2. Remove housings (1) for oil filters and remove the filter elements.

3. Disconnect the linkage (2) for governor control.

4. Disconnect fuel supply line (3) for fuel injection pump.

5. Disconnect the fuel injection lines (4).

6. Remove six bolts (5) that hold fuel injection pump housing to accessory drive housing.

7. Remove four bolts (6) that hold fuel injection pump housing to engine block.

8. Remove fuel injection pump housing and governor. Weight of pump and governor is 70 lb. (32 kg).

Install Fuel Injection Pump Housing And Governor

1. Turn camshaft of fuel injection pump until groove in shaft will be in alignment with timing pin in accessory drive housing.

2. Put the fuel injection pump housing and governor in place on the engine and install bolts.

3. Connect the fuel injection lines (3).

4. Connect fuel supply line (2).

5. Connect control linkage (1).

6. Install the oil filter elements and filter housings.

7. Check timing of fuel injection pump to engine. See FUEL INJECTION PUMP CAMSHAFT TIMING in TESTING AND ADJUSTING SECTION.
