New Circuit Board Assembly And Modules Improve Serviceability And Reliability {1418,1550}

Description of Change: A new electronic circuit board assembly improves the serviceability and reliability for the Altronic III (CPU Ignition System) Interface Box (AIB). The new assembly provides protection against multiple cylinder firings (crosstalk) in the AIB. The circuit board assembly can also be serviced instead of being replaced.

Adaptable To: New 136-3680 Board Assembly can be used with the above engines that contain the AIB. Within the new circuit board assembly are three new modules that can also be serviced instead of being replaced. Chart 1 lists each new module along with its applicable engine type and purpose.

New box assemblies have been released and are direct replacement for former box assemblies. The new box assemblies have a design change that:

* allows for greater resistance to moisture,

* has an effective Altronic serial number of "3900" or larger, and

* includes new 136-3680 Board Assembly and one of three new modules.

Chart 2 contains a list of the new box assemblies along with the former box assemblies.

Chart 3 lists the board assembly, control box assembly and ignition group that are associated with each new module.
