Two improvements have been made to carburetor control groups in the above engines in order to provide smooth operation of the carburetor control linkage. This change eliminates the possibility of binding of the control shaft.
The first improvement is the addition of 114-9269 Sleeve to the carburetor control groups. The sleeve fits over the collar of the ball bearing assembly as shown in Illustration 1.

NOTE: The control shaft on the carburetor control groups should NOT touch the mounting pad (housing) of the ball bearing assembly on the air inlet adapter.
The second improvement is the removal of the setscrew from 5L-3291 Ball Bearing Assembly. Illustration 2 shows the ball bearing assembly where the setscrews are to be removed.

The following list shows the carburetor control groups that the sleeve has been added.
The improvements made to the carburetor control groups in the above engines are effective with the serial numbers listed in the following chart.
