Usage:
G3606 (3XF),
G3608 (4WF),
G3612 (1YG),
G3616 (4CG) Engines Equipped With Alternator Attachment
Description of Change: New components are used in the accessory drive group (G3606 and G3608) and alternator mounting group (G3612 and G3616). These new components will provide improved serviceability of the pulley seal (A). Formerly, the housing (B) had to be removed to service the oil seal. With the new components installed, only the pulley assembly (1) needs to be removed to service the seal. A new bolt (5) holds the gear (3) in position on the shaft (4) when the pulley assembly is removed.
The size of the oil supply hole (X) in the housing (B) has been decreased and the number of oil drain holes (Y) has been increased from one to three. This will help prevent oil leaks past the seal (A).
The new bearing (2) includes two small grooves in the thrust face. These grooves will help ensure adequate lubrication between the bearing and drive gear (3).
Location of new components in the 7C-7346 Accessory Drive Group and 7C-7347 Alternator Mounting Group.
Adaptable To: The chart and the illustration identify the new components in the 7C-7346 Accessory Drive Group used on G3606 and G3608 Engines and the new components in the 7C-7347 Alternator Mounting Group used on G3612 and G3616 Engines.
The new 130-7641 Housing Assembly (B) is used with the new components in the 7C-7346 Accessory Drive Group used on G3606 and G3608 Engines. The new 130-7645 Housing Assembly (B) is used with the new components in the 7C-7347 Alternator Mounting Group used on G3612 and G3616 Engines.
