Replacing The Shutoff Assembly In Engines With Older Governors{1264,1289}

Usage:

3114, 3116, 3126 Industrial, Marine And Generator Set Engines

Engines with older governors can sometimes experience a rhythmic speed hunting problem. This problem can be corrected in some engines by replacing the 7W-9638 Shutoff Shaft Assembly with the 4P-9490 Shutoff Shaft Assembly. The 4P-9490 Shutoff Shaft Assembly acts as a damper in the governor.

NOTE: The governor should be inspected for worn and damaged parts prior to changing the assembly. The governor will also need to be reset on a 1U-7326 Governor Calibration Bench as part of this procedure.
