    For reference

  1. Use Tooling (A) to remove cylinder liner (1). Remove cylinder liner (1).

Note: If reusing cylinder liners (1), make sure to draw matching marks on cylinder block (2) and the flange of cylinder liners (1) as shown in Illustration 2 for repositioning .

Note: After removing cylinder liner (1), put numbers on their periphery or arrange them in sequence.

Note: Make sure that the cylinder liner grade mark should match with the mark on cylinder block (2).

Note: There are four different grades of cylinder liners (1) and cylinder block (2) matches. Each cylinder liner (1) has anyone of the following markings W, X, Y, or Z on the outer diameter, that indicates the size of the outer diameter of cylinder liner (1). Similarly, the matching inner diameter markings of the cylinder bore are indicated by W, X, Y, or Z on the crank case Left-hand side top for each bore.

Installation Procedure

  1. Gently press cylinder liner (1) with the hand. Place Tooling (D) at the top of cylinder liner (1) and gently tap with nylon mallet at the center to drive cylinder liner (1) into the bore.

Note: When reusing cylinder liner (1), use Tooling (B) to install cylinder liner (1). Install cylinder liner (1) in the original position aligning the matching marks provided before the removal.

Measure the projection of the cylinder liner

Note: Only Tooling (E) should be used along with interference liners.

  1. Use Tooling (C) and Tooling (F) to measure the projection of cylinder liner (1). Position Tooling (C) on the cylinder block as shown in Illustration 5.

  2. Measure the amount of projection of cylinder liner (1) from the cylinder block with Tooling (F) and Tooling (G). The measure of cylinder liner (1) projection is 0.010 to 0.080 mm (0.0004 to 0.0032 inch).

End By:

  1. Install the pistons and the connecting rods.
