Thread Lock Now Used On Timing Advance Bolts

Usage:


3406B Industrial, Marine And Generator Set Engines

Description of Change: Thread lock is now being used to help retain the flyweight carrier bolts, part of the automatic timing advance, on the above engines.

Refer to the illustration for the location of the bolts.

Adaptable To: The use of 9S3263 Thread Lock to retain flyweight carrier bolts is in effect as shown in the chart.

Whenever the new 58160 Bolt (12 point) or the former 6L5897 Bolt (Hex Socket Head) are removed, 9S3263 Thread Lock is to be used at installation. Bolts and mating threads should be clean and dry. Apply 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer to bolt threads and allow to dry before applying thread lock.
