Eliminating Interference Between Governor Housing And Tachometer Drive
Usage:
3406B Industrial, Marine And Generator Set Engines
There have been reports of interference between the 2W1842 PSG Governor Group and both the 1W8235 and 4W1101 Tachometer Drive Groups. This interference has been eliminated but difficulty may be encountered when replacing a PSG governor on an older engine. Refer to the illustration.
Location of interference.
This interference can be eliminated by grinding off not more than 2.54 mm (.10") of material from the governor housing at the point of interference. If there is still interference, grind material from the tachometer drive group.
NOTE: Remove only enough material to obtain clearance.
