Introduction

Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you read this information and you understand this information.

This Special Instruction lists parts that are required in order to convert the Napier turbocharger on 3612 Engines using diesel fuel. Caterpillar recommends the engine to be updated with the High Performance Aftercooler (HPAC). The parts are listed in Table 1 through 11 to receive the full performance benefit of the turbo upgrade.

The individual parts are listed with associated groups. The list of parts is not a comprehensive list for each group. Not every part of every group is listed.
