Korosi galvanis dapat merusak komponen yang mendinginkan engine. Korosi terjadi ketika logam yang tidak sejenis bersentuhan dan terendam dalam air garam. Potensial tegangan dari air garam ke engine harus diuji secara teratur untuk melindungi komponen pendinginan.

Menguji Potensial Tegangan

Operasikan engine selama minimal 30 menit, kemudian hentikan engine. Putuskan engine dari koneksi daya darat. Gunakan 257-9140 Multimeter dan 244-1536 Grup Kabel untuk menguji potensial tegangan dari air laut ke engine. Sensor setengah sel perak-perak klorida tersedia luas jika alat Cat tidak ada.

  1. Sambungkan kabel American Wire Gauge (AWG) No. 8 dari anode yang dikorbankan ke sistem pengikat kapal.

  2. Uji tegangan di stud pengikat.

  3. Uji tegangan di konektor pengikat.

Hasil Uji

Potensial tegangan harus berada di antara -0,500 mV dan -0,800 mV.

Catatan: Nilai yang mendekati atau lebih besar dari 0,0 mV termasuk sangat korosif.

Ukur potensial galvanis sistem dan gunakan zink atau logam mulia lain yang memiliki nilai potensial yang lebih lemah untuk mencegah korosi. Hubungi dealer Cat Anda untuk informasi lebih lanjut.
