Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
The fan drive 287-8585 Bushing installed in 276-3037 Fan Drive Pulley Gp and 276-3038 Fan Drive Pulley Gp may work its way off the drive shaft. Torque was found to be below specification causing the pulley to move toward the end of the shaft. Build time frame is from 2012 through March 2016 on Griffin factory built generator sets, 270-3505 Radiator Gp and 270-3507 Radiator and Fan Gp.

Inspect fan drive 287-8585 Bushing Kit three bolts for tightness.
- Remove radiator fan guards as necessary.
- Loosen radiator fan belt as necessary.
- Verify pulley alignment.
- Torque three bolts that secure pulley onto bushing kit assembly to
39 N·m (29 lb ft) . Repeat torque procedure alternating bolts until fully seated.Show/hide tableIllustration 1 g06056936 (1) Bolts - Verify the torque values of three bolts (1) securing the bushing kit.
