Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
Inadvertent Advanced Control Joystick (ACJ) float control activation occurs on certain Motor Graders.
The button on the ACJ for Auxiliary (AUX) float can be activated with a single press. Previous AUX float control arrangements required an extra action (push past a detent, etc.) to activate. This change in control pattern has made the float function more sensitive and leads to inadvertent activation of float for some operators.
Solution
Caterpillar is aware of this problem and is working toward a solution, but an interim repair has not been identified.
Until a permanent solution is known, operators are advised that the AUX float control will activate with a single button press on the ACJ. Understanding the correct operation of the ACJ can prevent the operator from lowering the snow wing unexpectedly.
