The Compressor By-Pass Valve Actuator Might Fail On Certain G3500B Engines {1803, 5510, 7602, 7610, 7620}

Usage:

G3520B GLF
Gas Engine
G3508B (S/N: N8C1-UP; RBK1400-UP)
G3512B (S/N: JHH1028-UP; N2S1-UP)
G3516B (S/N: N6E1-UP; JEF2661-UP)
Industrial Engine
G3520B (S/N: GLF108-UP)
Petroleum Engine
G3520B PETROLEUM (S/N: TPC1140-UP)

Problem

The EEPROM chip within the compressor by-pass valve actuator fails resulting in the valve not functioning and a 1720-12 Turbocharger Compressor Bypass Valve Actuator : Failure code.

Note: Product Link can get information from the CDL or CAN, unplugging the two CAN wires will not effect or change the Product Link functionality.

Solution

Perform this procedure before failure to eliminate failure mode of the actuator valve.

Note: Only replace the actuator valve if failed and the 1720-12 Turbocharger Compressor Bypass Valve Actuator : Failure is present.
