NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Inspect the condition of the gaskets. Replace the gaskets, if necessary.

  2. Attach a suitable lifting device to turbocharger (1). The weight of each turbocharger (1) is approximately 81 kg (178 lb).

  3. Apply Tooling (A) to the studs on the exhaust bellows (6). Position turbocharger (1) and the gaskets. Install the washers and nuts (8) and (7) that attach turbocharger (1) to exhaust bellows (6). Tighten nuts (7) and (8) to a torque of 47 ± 5 N·m (35 ± 4 lb ft). Tighten nuts (7) and (8) again to a torque of 47 ± 5 N·m (35 ± 4 lb ft).

  4. Install bolts (10). Tighten bolts (10) to a torque of 215 ± 40 N·m (159 ± 30 lb ft).

  5. Install tube assembly (9).

  6. Install bolts (3). Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 25 ± 5 N·m (221 ± 44 lb in)

  7. Install tube assembly (4).

  8. Connect elbow (2) to turbocharger (1) and install clamp assembly (5). Tighten clamp assembly (5) to a torque of 30 ± 5 N·m (22 ± 4 lb ft).

  9. Fill the cooling system to the correct level with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct filling procedures.

  10. Repeat this process on the opposite side.
