- Remove exhaust shields
- Remove exhaust bypass valve

Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
- Turn the engine control switch to the OFF/RESET position.
- Drain the coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

- Remove clamp (3) and disconnect the tube assembly.

- Disconnect harness assembly (6) from the sensors.
- Remove exhaust elbow (1) and the gaskets from the engine.
- Install exhaust elbow (1) in reverse order of removal.
