Engine Oil Pressure Sensor - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Disconnect harness assembly (1). Remove unfiltered engine oil pressure sensor (2) and elbow (3).

  2. Disconnect harness assembly (4).

  3. Remove filtered engine oil pressure sensor (5) and adapter (6).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install filtered engine oil pressure sensor (5) and unfiltered engine oil pressure sensor (2) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Lubricate the bore of filtered engine oil pressure sensor (5) and unfiltered engine oil pressure sensor (2) with the fluid that is being sealed.

    2. Tighten filtered engine oil pressure sensor (5) and unfiltered engine oil pressure sensor (2) to a torque of 10 ± 2 N·m (89 ± 18 lb in).
