Crankshaft Rear Gear - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove the crankshaft rear seal.


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Install Tooling (A) in the rear of the crankshaft.

  2. Attach a suitable lifting device to crankshaft rear gear (1). The weight of crankshaft rear gear (1) is approximately 65 kg (143 lb). Slide crankshaft rear gear (1) onto Tooling (A). Remove crankshaft rear gear (1).

  3. Remove the O-ring seals from each side of crankshaft rear gear (1).

Installation Procedure


NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


  1. Install crankshaft rear gear (1) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Align the four unevenly spaced holes in crankshaft rear gear (1) with the four threaded holes in the crankshaft.

    2. Install crankshaft rear gear (1) on Tooling (A) with the gear teeth away from the crankshaft.
