Note: Verify that all parts are shipped and undamaged for preparation of assembly. missing or damaged parts can be ordered prior to assembly to avoid delays during assembly.
Observe the safe working load limits of all lifting and blocking devices and keep a safe distance from suspended/blocked loads. Personnel may be seriously injured or killed by falling loads. |
Personal injury or death can occur from heavy components falling during removal or installation. Properly support the component with a suitable lifting device during removal or installation. |
Climbing equipment may be required to access this service point. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Mounting and Dismounting"

- Use two suitable cranes to lift the main frame at the four lifting points indicated in Illustrations 2 and 3. The main frame weighs approximately
55338 kg (122000 lb) .Show/hide tableIllustration 4 g03841703 View of the frame positioned above the front axle - Slowly position the main frame above the front axle.

Illustration 7 g03841885 View of the front axle rods - Remove the retainer bar hardware from the left side upper rod eccentric pin at the frame. Install the upper rod to the front axle with one eccentric pin (6). Rotate eccentric pin (6) and the eccentric pin on the frame to position the slot vertical and the eccentric portion of the pin up.
- Rotate the retainer bar hardware from the right side upper rod eccentric pin at the frame. Rotate the right upper eccentric pin to position the slot vertical and the eccentric portion of the pin up.
- Rotate the three installed eccentric pins until the upper right side axle pin bores line up to allow installation of the last eccentric pin (6) on the right side of the machine at the front axle.
- Secure the eccentric pins in place with a pin retainer (7), two bolts (3), two hard washers (4), and two rings (5).
- Repeat Steps 4 through 8 for both sides of the machine.

Illustration 8 g03841977 View of the right side front suspension - Secure the front axle to the right side of the frame using one pin (8), one pin retainer (7), two bolts (3), and two hard washers (4). Install two rings (5) on pin (8).
- Connect the front axle to the front suspension cylinders using one pin (1), one retainer (2), two bolts (3), and two hard washers (4) on each side. Install two rings (5) on each pin (1).

Illustration 9 g03842063 View of the frame and front axle being positioned on stands - Depending on the site layout and assembly conditions either use blocking or stands to support the main frame with the front axle or use stands to support the main frame. Refer to Illustration 9 for a typical example of using stands to support the main frame. Position the stands under the front axle rod mounting points, and under the hoist cylinders. If blocking is used, block the hoist cylinder mounts at a height where the rear axle may be positioned under the main frame.
Note: 794 AC machines are typically assembled using blocking.
