Fuel Filter Housings - Remove and Install

Usage:

C280-08 J4R

Removal Procedure

Start By:

  1. Remove the water temperature regulator housing.

  2. Remove the fuel filter elements.


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.



NOTICE

Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

  1. Disconnect tube assemblies (1). Remove the O-ring seals. Attach a suitable lifting device to fuel filter housing (2). The weight of fuel filter housing (3) is approximately 90 kg (198 lb).

  2. Remove bolts (3) from both sides of fuel filter housing (2) and remove fuel filter housing (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install fuel filter housing (2) in the reverse order of removal.
