Exhaust Elbow - Remove and Install

Start By:

  1. Remove turbochargers.

  1. Remove insulation (1).

  2. Remove bolts (4). Using two people, remove bolts (2) and remove exhaust pipe (3). The weight of exhaust pipe (3) is approximately 39 kg (86 lb).

  3. Attach a suitable lifting device to exhaust elbow (5). The weight of exhaust elbow (5) is approximately 52 kg (115 lb). Remove bolts (6) and remove exhaust elbow (5).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install exhaust elbow (5) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (A) to bolts (2) and (4).

    2. Tighten bolts (6) to a torque of 120 ± 20 N·m (89 ± 15 lb ft).
