Adaptable To: The new 132-3135 Bracket Assembly and 132-3137 Bracket Assembly are effective on 3176B (9CK31676-Up) Truck Engines. The bracket assemblies are also adaptable to 3176B (9CK00599 through 9CK31675) Truck Engines used in Freightliner® applications. The bracket assemblies are adaptable to 3176 (2YG, 7LG) Truck Engines used in Freightliner® applications. A 132-3135 Bracket Assembly or a 132-3137 Bracket Assembly may be used depending on the application. The 132-3137 Bracket Assembly has two additional holes.
Illustration showing typical bracket installation.
1. Align the mounting faces with the cylinder head and the front housing while finger tightening four bolts (1, 3). Make sure the faces are flush with no gaps.
2. Lightly snug two 6V3822 bolts and two 3E4353 washers (1) to the head.
3. Torque two bolts (3) through the front housing to standard torque.
4. Loosen two bolts (1) at the cylinder head to relieve any assembly stress in the front housing.
5. Torque two bolts (1) at the cylinder head to standard torque.
NOTE: When assembling the bracket (2) to 3176B engines, some modifications to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) hardware may be necessary. Installation of the new bracket will require the disassembly and assembly of the fuel rail and a coolant fitting change.
