Diesel Exhaust Fluid - Fill

Usage:

C13 JR9


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


Reference: See Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Capacities (Refill)" for the capacity of the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) tank for your engine.

  1. Clean blue DEF tank filler cap (1) and the surrounding area.

  2. Remove the blue DEF tank filler cap.

  3. Fill the tank with diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).

    Note: Do not fill the DEF tank from a contaminated container or funnel.

    Note: Do not over fill the tank. DEF can freeze and needs room for expansion.

  4. Install the blue DEF tank filler cap.
