Start By:
- Remove the cylinder head. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Cylinder Head - Remove".
- Install Tooling (A) into the hole for the electronic unit injector. Refer to Illustration 2. Refer to the Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1205.

Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.
- Install the plate of Tooling (A) onto the valve springs. Refer to Illustration 3. Install the nut onto the stud. Tighten the nut to compress valve springs (2). Remove retainer locks (1).

Illustration 4 g02853999 - Remove Tooling (A). Remove rotocoil (3), outer spring (4), and inner spring (5). Remove valve seal (6).
- Repeat Steps 1 through 3 for the remaining valve seals.

- Install a new valve seal (6). Install inner spring (5), outer spring (4), and rotocoil (3).

- Repeat Steps 1 through 2 for the remaining valve seals.
