A New Bracket Should Be Used When Replacing the Combustion Air Tube on Certain C13 Truck Engines {108N}
- Engine:
- C13 (S/N: LEE1-UP)
A new bracket is now available and should be used whenever the combustion air tube is being replaced. Use the following procedure when making a repair.
- Remove the 6V-8490 Bolt (1), the 5P-4115 Hard Washer (2), and the 5G-4313 Spacer (3) from the 317-2678 Clean Gas Induction Control Gp .

- Discard the 5G-4313 Spacer (3) .
- Install the 380-5846 Bracket (4), orienting the slotted end under the clip. Attach the washer (2) and hand tighten the bolt (1) .

- Insert the 291-6641 Clip (5) onto the 318-6187 Tube As (8) .

- Align the bracket and the 3E-4352 Hard Washer (7) with the clip hole.
- Hand tighten the 6V-5217 Bolt (6)
- Tighten bolt (1) to 12 ± 3 N·m (9 ± 2 lb ft).
- Tighten bolt (6) to 28 ± 7 N·m (21 ± 5 lb ft).
- Be sure that the 290-2102 Bracket As (12) is still attached to the shield and tube assembly.

- Use the parts listed in Illustration 4 to secure the 291-9951 Tube As (13) to the bracket.
