爆震是空气/燃油混合气被火花塞点火之后出现的发动机敲击。 过量的机械应力和热应力可能降低发动机使用寿命。 有几种原因可能引起爆震。 例如空气 / 燃油混合气过浓、过载、高压缩比和进气歧管空气温度高。

空气 / 燃油混合气的燃烧先于火花点火,造成过早点火。 通常,过早点火是由于燃烧室内有热点导致的。 过早点火可能的原因有不正确的火花塞、不正确安装的火花塞和燃烧室的沉积物。 爆震可能是过早点火的结果。 过早点火对发动机的影响与提前点火正时相同。

尽管传感器可能指示爆震的存在,但故障可能是过早点火。 爆震的指示也可能由发动机机械噪音过度引起。

为了避免检测与爆震无关的振动,电子控制模块(ECM)在某些时段监控爆震传感器。 各气缸做功冲程期间,活塞位于上死点前的 9 度和上死点后的 40 度之间时,监控爆震。 因此,测试爆震传感器的“缸体敲击”法对于 G3500B 发动机不起作用。
