Preventive Maintenance
Always follow the preventive maintenance procedure. The listed preventive maintenance procedures are used to ensure the following:
- The equipment is serviced uniformly.
- The equipment is configured properly.
- The equipment is in proper operating condition.
All preventive maintenance is to be performed only by qualified technicians who have been trained to maintain the product. Preventive maintenance procedures include the following:
Basic Preventive Maintenance - These routines are performed on a minimum of a yearly basis.
Advanced Preventive Maintenance - These routines are performed as needed and for troubleshooting the system.
Complete all maintenance for power distribution equipment that is upstream of the UPS first. Servicing the upstream equipment first will ensure that there will not be any changes to the infrastructure for the power distribution after servicing the UPS.
Before starting these tests, complete the following:
- Place the upstream disconnects in the ON position. The upstream disconnects are now closed.
- Ensure that the system is configured to operate in Test Mode.
Test Mode
Test Mode consists of the following:
- Place the MAINS 1 (Q1) input switch in the ON position. The MAINS 1 input switch is now closed.
- Place the MAINS 2 (Q4S) input switch in the ON position. The MAINS 2 input switch is now closed.
- Place the output switch in the ON position. The output switch is now closed.
- Place the battery disconnects in the ON position. The battery disconnects are now closed.
- Place the internal maintenance bypass switch in the OFF position. The internal maintenance bypass switch is now open.
If any conditions do not occur, troubleshoot the fault and correct the issue. Verify that the operations and alarm functions of the UPS are correct.
