Air Shutoff - Remove and Install

Removal Procedure


    NOTICE

    Keep all parts clean from contaminants.

    Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.


    ------ WARNING! ------

    Personal injury or death can occur from not following the proper procedure or the recommended tooling.

    To prevent the possibility of injury or death, follow the established procedure using the recommended tooling.


    ------ WARNING! ------

    Before you remove the air intake shutoff, pull the trip knob on the air intake shutoff or press the emergency stop button in order to release the blade latch. If the blade latch is released after the air intake shutoff is removed, serious personal injury can result.


  1. Pull the emergency knob on the air shutoff or press the emergency stop button in order to release the blade latch on the air shutoff.

  2. Disconnect hose assembly (1) from air shutoff (3).

  3. Loosen band clamps (2) and clamp (4). Remove air shutoff (3).

  4. If necessary, remove hose assembly (1). Disconnect hose assemblies (5) and harness assembly (6) from control valve assembly (7).

  5. Remove the bolts and control valve assembly (7).

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean all mating surfaces. Position control valve assembly (7) and install the bolts.

  2. If necessary, connect harness assembly (6) and hose assemblies (5) to control valve assembly (7). Install hose assembly (1).

  3. Place air shutoff (3) in position. Install band clamps (2) and clamp (4). Tighten clamp (4) to a torque of 8.5 ± 2.0 N·m (75 ± 18 lb in).

  4. Connect hose assembly (1) to air shutoff (3).

  5. Reset the air shutoff to the "OPEN" position.
