ReferenceOperation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU8142, "Product Link - 121SR/522/523".
ReferenceSpecial Instruction, REHS2368, "Installation Procedure For Product Link PL522/523 (Cellular){7606}".
ReferenceSystems Operation, RENR8143, "Product Link - PL522/523" for instructions to flash the gateway.
New Cat Product Link has new user friendly web application and cellular technology. The VisionLink application will replace the current user interface for Product Link with intuitive tools, new hardware options, and features for processing and providing information to customers and dealers. The other features include: basic asset management, fleet monitoring, maintenance and health and utilization. The new generation of Product Link communicates over the cellular (GSM) network adding to the family of enabling hardware which uses satellite technology today. The primary advantage of the cellular (GSM) communication is the wider bandwidth which enables the signal to transfer more data more frequently.
Note: Software updates for the master board are executed over the air by Trimble and cannot be flashed by the dealer at this time. Gateway flash file part numbers are: 371-5196 Monitor Software Gp (PL522 Gateway) and 371-5195 Monitor Software Gp (523 Gateway).
Note: Prior to a service trip, be sure to check SIS Web to ensure that the new Flash File part number is still the latest Flash File part number. A newer Flash File part number may be available.
